Spiritual Book Club
It is easy to get stuck mindlessly in our busy world whether it be for work, scrolling through social media, the current news or just our day to day life. We may forget to stop and take in the beauty existing all around us and it takes a very conscious effort to find peace within our lives. Yoga and meditation helps us remain in this space however we must also find ways to incorporate less stress into our daily lives as well. There is something quite relaxing in finding a quiet space, opening a book and being fully present within the words and pages. At The Bodhi Tree Book Club we are taking some time to allow space from the busy world and connect more with each other. Hopefully find a little peace within our day by turning off, sitting down and reading.
a few notes...
The book club meets every second Thursday of each month to share any thoughts, interpretations or feelings on the books being read. Our book choices are meant to be more spiritual and inspirational in context and are chosen together at each meeting.
This group offers a safe space to be open and relaxed with each other, it is meant to release restrictions and just enjoy reading together. To be present with the book and form our own thoughts or perspectives without expectation or judgement. Everyone of us is unique, we all have our own viewpoints and that is what makes reading and sharing together so interesting and wonderful.
There is no pressure to read at a certain rate or even to read every book that is chosen. There may be certain books that some may not find interesting and although we are trying to push ourselves to learn new perspectives, not all books we choose will resonate with everyone and that is okay. If you do not read the books we still invite you to come out and enjoy an evening of wonderful connection with like minded souls.
Find some peace within the pages of a book and join our club once a month to share your thoughts
JW Book Share
My Dad was a spiritual person who truly believed in and loved our local community. He enjoyed reading books on history, health and wellness, spirituality and inspirational success. Over the years he collected a library of books along with many inspirational quotes. He was always striving to achieve in life and offered a helping hand to anyone who needed support. I am blessed and incredibly grateful to have known him in this life, to have him as my Dad and also to know him as Grandpa to my son.
Before he passed away, he gave me quite a few books from his library. Some of them I was surprised to find out he owned and others spoke of how he lived his life. It was really wonderful to learn even more about who he was and also to remember the Dad I knew and loved. He suggested that I start a library at the studio so people could enjoy the books. I thought this was a beautiful idea so in honour of my Dad (JW) The Bodhi Tree offers an Inspirational and spiritual book share where you are welcome to burrow or contribute a book.
Please stop by the studio when it is open to view our books, you are welcome to stay to read or take the book home with you. Reach out to learn more and find out when the studio is open without any sessions happening.
